Barkot lacks all the signboards or usual trappings of a tourist destination. It is a small town that is home to a cluster of cottages, plus a few stores and restaurants that are surrounded by fragrant deodar and oak trees. It is normally only visited by pilgrims, who are on the way to the Char Dham Yatra, but if you are someone that likes the peace and solitude that comes with connecting with nature, this is one destination that is sure to impress you.

Earnest trekkers will also find much to like in Barkot. There are multiple trekking trails here, especially for those who like to enjoy the silence of the wooded forests that is only broken by a waterfall or two, or the rhythmic movement of running streams. In case, you are not sure of the trekking route, talk to our manager who will be happy to chart out a route for you. Also, don’t forget to pack a picnic from the resort, which you can enjoy on your way.
